Fred is an urban ecologist and landscape architect practicing sustainable land design through Barr Engineering Company, and leads the Green Infrastructure Practice Group. His work strives to regenerate ecological systems in built environments, while accommodating the needs of people. Fred is also a lecturer on issues of water conservation, soil regeneration and human adaptation to climate change. His work ranges from writing city-wide green infrastructure plans, restoring native ecosystems, designing college campuses and corporate environments.
