After dropping out of high school and serving five years in the military, Alex worked in the excavation industry while attending college at night. It was in a geology class that he fell in love with science and that led him to a degree in environmental sciences. Upon graduation, he worked with local farmers as a Conservation Planner at the Conservation District and is now the Watershed Specialist for Washington County, MD.
