In November of 2021, the House passed HR 3684, an almost $1.2 trillion bill that contains new infrastructure spending, $55 billion of which is set aside for drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure funding. To be able to successfully deliver these projects and meet expected outcomes, a skilled workforce for water infrastructure is required. Panelists will share their analysis of the current state of the water infrastructure workforce, review the broad skills in demand, then discuss strategies and next steps for meeting the challenges ahead, including entrepreneurship and increasing the participation rates of those that have been historically underrepresented in the sector.
