Matt Trojan has worked for 30+ years as a hydrologist in the environmental field. His focus has been on the fate and transport of environmental pollutants and has experience with soils, surface water and ground water, including monitoring and modeling. Matt has conducted research ranging from plot to watershed scales, including designing experiments and monitoring networks, collecting and storing data, analyzing data, and publishing.
Over time Matt has evolved from a detail-oriented person to more of a big picture thinker. Outreach and communication have become increasingly important to him, as science without communication has little value. This focus was demonstrated in his role as an adjunct instructor at an audio and video arts school, teaching environmental science as an elective. Having aspired to be a musician in his youth, continuing to play music provides a creative outlet which Matt has used in developing solutions in his work in the environmental field.
