Detroit Future City
Speaker Bio
Susan is a stormwater engineer at the nonprofit Detroit Future City. Her primary role at DFC is building a social enterprise to offer green infrastructure consulting services to mission driven organizations, such as other non-profits, faith-based institutions and small businesses, and to provide a source of revenue for Detroit Future City. These consulting services include helping organizations lower their stormwater drainage charges, project management of green infrastructure projects, design, and construction oversight and administration. These services are offered at a much lower cost than a traditional engineering or landscape architecture firm, helping to service a large gap of organizations in Detroit who are hit hard by drainage charges but cannot afford traditional technical assistance. Susan also manages stormwater projects through DFC's Working With Lots grant program. Susan has a bachelor's in environmental engineering from the University of Michigan.
