Wilderness Inquiry - Mississippi River Day Canoe Trip
Date & Time
Tuesday, August 25, 2026, 8:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Description

Join Wilderness Inquiry for a canoe tour on the Mississippi River using 10-person North canoes, which allow large groups to paddle together in stable, spacious vessels. The full experience, including a pre-trip safety talk, loading and unloading, paddling and a closing circle, runs approximately 90 minutes to two hours, depending on the water levels and weather conditions. There will be one Wilderness Inquiry employee in the stern of each canoe to share wildlife and culture interpretation along the route— this includes history of some of the waterworks projects visible from the river.

The exact put in and take out locations may change due to water conditions. The paddle tour will proceed rain or shine. Ponchos or rain jackets will be provided if it rains. Cancellation will only take place in SEVERE weather conditions.

Please dress appropriately for the weather, bring a hat, sunglasses and/or sunscreen as the entire tour will be outside. Water and snacks will be provided. Personal coolers can be requested if you plan to bring your own food and beverages.

Participants will be required to complete their own waiver forms through an online registration HERE.
