This presentation will target general contractors, multiple & site property owners, HOAs, facility managers, retail facility maintenance professionals, developer managed properties, industrial facilities, etc. Participants in this presentation will take away a better understanding of why stormwater management and erosion and sediment control are one in the same. Additional information will allow the participants to take away knowledge of the names and basic maintenance requirements of various stormwater best management practices that include pre-construction (bmps). Understanding these bmps pre-construction will help design an aggressive proactive post construction maintenance plan. This will point out how pre construction erosion an sediment control can impact post construction stormwater management. Understanding the continuity between the pre and post construction bmps will assist in diverting repair costs and help with poor or large expensive repairs. Information will also be provided to encourage stormwater inspections during and after construction, maintenance and subsequent repairs be completed by qualified contractors. For every site and stormwater system there are different bmps to consider. Every site is unique, and this is presentation will not cover all bmps or systems. We will spotlight several site examples showing the benefits of inspecting, maintaining and repairing bmps during and after construction. The presenter will provide real examples of various bmps as well as the expensive results of neglecting the erosion control bmps and post construction stormwater system. It is the intention of this presentation to provide information to create an avenue where the erosion and sediment control industry and the stormwater industry can become one in the same.
